Germany’s biggest music and radio award, 1Live Krone, is celebrated for its electrifying performances and visually stunning stage designs. For this year’s show, production partner Gahrens & Battermann entrusted Absen to deliver an LED solution capable of meeting the uncompromising demands of a live broadcast environment while creating an unforgettable experience for the audience.
The production team faced a tight build schedule, with the need for rapid scene changes between live performances and the pressure of delivering flawless visuals for a nationally televised broadcast. This required a solution that combined exceptional image quality with speed and reliability, ensuring every element of the show could be executed seamlessly at the renowned Bielefeld nightclub, Lokschuppen. Leading LED display brand, Absen was strategically chosen due to its proven product reliability across live events, consistent technical support and responsiveness and an established long-term relationship with Gahrens & Battermann built over more than 10 years.
Absen’s award-winning SA2.6, with a 2.6mm pixel pitch, was selected for its ability to deliver stunning visuals, which feature SMD technology for superior stability and performance. With a 99.9% DCI-P3 colour gamut, 7680Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz frame rate, the SA2.6 brought impactful clarity and smoothness for the influential music awards. The integration with NovaStar processing and Pixera playback made calibration and colour management effortless and enabled the technical team to maintain a consistent performance under dynamic conditions.
